JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for managing access requests, Group Policy requests, as well as DNS and DHCP requests, as well as implementing new and updated Active Directory policies and infrastructure.  They will work with the Active Directory Tech Lead to ensure the resources and services being run within the Active Directory group are well maintained.

JOB DUTIES: 

-          Maintain and monitor existing Active Directory services including Active Directory database, certificate services, and Group Policy

-          Help the Active Directory Support Team with Tier 2 and Tier 3 issue resolution when they arise

-          Help ensure that the Active Directory Support Team understands the given resolutions

-          Maintain and monitor existing infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP and IPAM

-          Create basic process documentation for internal use and take part in meetings to try and streamline existing processes

-          Troubleshoot issues within the active directory environment that may deal with the Active Directory database, replication, or Group Policy configurations

-          Implement basic changes in the design and structure of the Active Directory Infrastructure and services based on the guidelines given to them

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

-          Infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise

-          Processing, documenting, and coordinating resolution of trouble calls with help desk

-          Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, DHCP, certificate services and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise

Skill in:

-          Advanced troubleshooting

-          Analyzing existing services and comprehend where improvements need to be made or planned for

-          Analyzing existing performance trends and recommend adjustments or changes when required

-          Strong customer service

-          Interpersonal, written and oral communication

-          Group Policy Management

-          Active Directory Hierarchy

-          Certificate Services

-          ITIL/MOF guidelines

 

Ability to:

-          Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks

-          Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations

-          Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly

-          Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization

-          Communicate effectively (in oral and written form) with a variety of individuals

-          Adapt knowledge outlined above to systems development methods for web-based applications

-          Author design documents with the assistance of project leader

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-          Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of experience in systems administration (or equivalent experience)

-          Microsoft Certifications, MCSA, MCITP or MCSE

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-          Have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.    Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

-          Apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets Level One requirements

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
