Selective Preferences: One year in a supervising position.
Under general direction, provides planning, training, and supervision sufficient to enable the unit to operate with optimal efficiency. Evaluate the performance of subordinates, conduct staff meetings, approve or deny leave, hire and dismiss personnel, give recognition, and take disciplinary action when necessary.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to; reviewing documents submitted by employers, CPA’s, attorneys, employer representatives, etc.; to research and determine the appropriate unit for which the documents shall be routed; maintain power of attorney authorizations; process address changes; open, separate, batch and tally all incoming mail; handle and distribute incoming faxes; handles the distribution of field assignments; sorts and batches documents completed by staff; and reviews and processes request for the Department of Economic Security federal identification number.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Considerable knowledge of supervising procedures, personnel rules and policies governing hiring, firing, grievances, Departmental and Unit criteria’s, etc.
SKILL IN: organizational skills, computer skills, and customer service skills.
ABILITY TO:The ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing and to analyze information to arrive at a decision.
