JOB SUMMARY:

The Behavioral Health Administrator will be responsible for the oversight of the Behavioral Health Administration within the Division of Developmental Disabilities' (DDD) Health Care Services.  This position supervises staff in the provision of behavioral health care coordination for Medicaid and DD/Arizona Long-Term Care System (ALTCS) members.

JOB DUTIES: 

-          The incumbent will work closely with the Health Care Services Administrator and the Quality Management Chief in addressing the integration of physical and behavioral health care and completion of the behavioral health contract requirements.  The position is responsible for the oversight of Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) behavioral health initiatives such as the High Need/High Cost program and the behavioral health components of Operational Reviews.  Oversees the care collaboration efforts between the Behavioral Health Administration staff with the Regional Behavioral Health Authorities (RBHA) and Children's Rehabilitative Services, assisting in this process to ensure the goals of DDD members are addressed.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-          The ideal/preferred candidate will have experience with the current DDD service delivery system as well as the current public behavioral health service delivery system.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-          As specified in R9-10-101, an individual licensed under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 33, whose scope of practice includes one of the following:

a)      Independently engage in the practice of behavioral health as defined in A.R.S. 32-3251 (except for a licensed Substance Abuse Technician);

b)      A psychiatrist as defined in A.R.S. 36-501;

c)      A psychologist as defined in A.R.S. 32-2061;

d)      A physician;

e)      A registered nurse practitioner licensed as an adult psychiatric and mental health nurse;

f)       A behavior analyst as defined in A.R.S. 32-2091; OR

g)      A registered nurse

-          In accordance with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) contract as defined in 42 CFR 455, 104, SMDL #09-001, a search for the incumbent will be conducted monthly using the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and the System for Award Management (SAM).

-          Have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12)

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions

-          Employee shall have a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults

-          Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459 

-          Employment is contingent upon the ability to lift 50 pounds or more and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
