JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Systems Support Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the analysis, development, testing and implementation of new and enhanced business system initiatives for all business system applications administered by the Business Systems Administration. 

JOB DUTIES: 

-          Manage team of professional business support analysts

-          Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

-          Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans with guidance from senior manager

-          Advocate technology changes that provide value and support Department goals

-          Develop and monitor Unit budget and track project-related costs

-          Create and promote a productive work environment, ensuring that necessary skills and competencies are in place to meet the goals of the Unit

-          Provide leadership and technical guidance to professional staff, colleagues, and customers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

-          All facets of management and leadership, as well as a vision for the Business Systems Support Unit

-          Most infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise

-          Department methodologies and tools, and policies and procedures

-          Interrelationships among various internal and external organizational functions

Skill in:

-          System administration and leadership

-          Responding promptly to customer needs, problem-solving, soliciting feedback, meeting commitments, and fostering positive relationships

-          Interpersonal, written, and oral communication

-          Defining immediate and long-term goals, priorities, and operational plan, ensuring ensure team goals are aligned with goals and priorities of Department

Ability to:

-          Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

-          Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations

-          Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly

-          Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization

-          Manage medium to large teams

-          Evaluate and test emerging technologies

-          Apply creative solutions to business problems to ensure business needs are met effectively

-          Understand and anticipate needs and priorities of both internal and external customers

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-          Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of related experience in related discipline or equivalent experience

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-          Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.  Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

-          Possess a valid fingerprint clearance card, or obtain a fingerprint clearance card within seven working days of employment
