The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Campus Monitor. This position works and coordinates with the Habilitation Supervisor 1 to provide leadership, monitoring and training of direct support staff who provide services to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Ensures member programmatic needs are met; direct support staff are oriented to each member's ISP; resolves problems and questions presented by supervisors, direct support staff, family members and guardians; provides guidance and assistance with medical, behavioral, and maintenance emergencies.  Monitors for campus security by routinely observing for unauthorized visitors, safety concerns, unusual situations and emergencies.


Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


- Ensures staff are knowledgeable and comply with all state and federal regulations by reviewing data and documentation in the member files for compliance with regulations and reporting to management.

 - Provide leadership to all staff and ensuring consistent, high quality care for members including appropriate attire, nails and skin care, bathing, grooming, provision of safe and sanitary environment by treating individuals with dignity, respect and privacy.

 - Provides guidance and assistance to staff regarding program and active treatment implementation to identify various activities that promote positive learning and opportunities for members.

  - Conduct medication administration and observations and report results while administering medication as needed upon completion of appropriate medication administration course.

   - Monitors for campus security by routinely observing for unauthorized visitors, safety concerns and emergencies by maintaining communication with the management staff for problem resolution.


   - Provides guidance and assistance with emergencies that include medical, behavioral, and facility emergencies while maintaining communication between management by providing guidance to staff in order to resolve the emergency situation.

    - Assures that sufficient staff are on duty to meet the member’s needs in each residence by demonstrating leadership and displaying a positive attitude to promote teamwork.

-          Monitor the provision of care to members


-          Guide a diverse group of staff to accomplish goals





-          Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and able to read and write in English.  Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, when necessary.  Preference given to candidates with a High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.  Prefer 1-year experience working with individual with developmental disabilities.



-          Have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).


-          Apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets Level One requirements.


-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.


-          Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459. 



-          Successfully pass background checks, reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.


-          Requires the ability to pass a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
