JOB SUMMARY:

The Collection Supervisor II is responsible for supervising a group of Collectors and support staff. Assigns work, trains, motivates, monitors, measures sand grades results of work activity. Reviews, approves, or denies request for installment payment agreements, levies, liquor license complaints, waiver of penalty and interest and requests for estimated assessments. Ensures compliance with Unemployment Insurance Tax requirements for employers who are liable to file and pay quarterly Unemployment Insurance Tax and wages reports.

JOB DUTIES: 

-          Supervise the billing or reimburse employers for Benefit charges accrued to their account in the past quarter.

-          Confers with staff through weekly huddles, monthly meetings and coaching of subordinate staff on a one-on-one basis.

-          Reviews productivity reports to ensure collectors and support staff meet criteria and are graded accordingly

-          Interprets and applies policy, laws and regulations in order to make decisions on legal actions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

-          Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State and agency laws, regulations, rules and policies governing collection of Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax.

-          Knowledge of local, State and Federal jurisdictional records system to trace and locate businesses or persons with a delinquent account.

-          Leadership, work management, coach, mentor and continuous improvement.

-          Effective oral and written communication and problem solving skills.

-          Communicate clearly and effectively predetermined goals, metrics, targets to all staff.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-          Extensive management and communication skills, experience in an unemployment insurance tax or a comparable governmental program with mathematical skills and taxation functions with a minimum of three years experience. Progressively increasing staff responsibility and supervision through subordinate supervisors. Knowledge of bankruptcy as it pertains to tax.
