The Division of Child and Family Engagement (DCFE) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Human Services Specialist 3. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Maintain open communication with contracted child care providers, parents/guardians, contracts unit, eligibility and certification specialists and Child Care Administration (CCA) contractors

- Provide resources to the parents/guardians, child care providers, and to the Department including information and available training to support the continual enrollment of a child facing possible expulsion; develop plans with providers, parents, and others, to support the child’s continuous participation in the current child care setting

- Solve complex problems and coordination across multiple state agencies, child care providers and private community organizations; provide support to CCA Eligibility Specialist, child care providers and parents to enhance their ability to identify and access needed resources to support the child’s successful participation in child care settings

- Identify and report on metrics related to expulsion, including the completion of countermeasure documents and the development and implementation of improvement strategies

- Work with program development unit around identifying of training and support in the community




- Knowledge of the principles, practices and methodology of human services and how they are addressed in varying organizational structures

- Knowledge of DES programs, resources, policies and procedures, community programs and resources

- Knowledge of diverse cultures and communities, early childhood development and the states early childhood regulatory system

- Oral and written communication skills

- Skill in interpersonal relations

- Skill in network development; Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word

- Ability to set priorities, organize and manage a complex and varied workload in a fast paced environment

- Plan, organize and assemble resources and coordinate projects; gather and compile data to create general reports

- Develop effective and positive working relationships with a diverse group; prioritize, demonstrate trustworthiness, fairness, openness, focus and follow-through; use a variety of desktop computer applications

- Ability work varied hours throughout the business week (Saturday - Friday) which may include weekends and evening hours
