Responsibilities

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experience and highly motived individual to join our team as an Executive Consultant 2.  This position has a direct confidential working relationship with the Assistant Director; works independently on extremely sensitive and critical issues and provides recommendations based on their findings. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Speaks and takes action on behalf of the Assistant Director including assigning work and delegating tasks as needed; may represent the Assistant Director at both internal and external meetings and serve as a member and/or lead in projects as assigned.

- Works with a variety of internal stakeholders regarding constituent issues; gathers information and follows up to ensure the solutions are carried out; ensures timely monitoring and oversight of member services issues and that concerns are responded to promptly; drafts correspondence; assigns and tracks time lines.

- Serves as a direct contact for members/families/providers, Division staff, and other agency staff seeking answers to questions or concerns and direction; provides statistical information, tracking and trending via complex spreadsheets; develops reports; gathers and consolidates information; works with the Division’s Human Resources staff on developing, tracking and hiring positions; works with contracted providers and the Division’s Business Operations Unit on resolving billing, authorization and other issues.

- Responsible for the review of some deliverables for submission to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) to ensure compliance with the Division’s contract for the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) program.  Coordinates with the Communications Manager in the Assistant Director’s Office to prepare communications to internal and external constituents.

- Supervision and guidance of an Executive Staff Assistant and two Administrative Assistant 3s including hiring and evaluations.  Assign work assignments and ensures coverage in the absence of staff.

 

Qualifications

- Knowledge of services provided to people with developmental disabilities.

- Knowledge of AHCCCS Medicaid contract requirements for the provision of ALTCS, acute care services, and behavioral health services.

- Experience supervising of staff.

- Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations.

- Knowledge of Federal Emergency Management Agency business continuity practices and disaster preparedness.

- Experience with interpreting and accurately explaining federal and state laws, policies, and administrative regulations, as well as record keeping and maintaining files.

- Ability to effectively represent the Division professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

- Work with diverse individuals, agency staff, outside staff, and others.

- Multi-task, work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities, and meet time lines.

- Write and prepare a plan for action or program activity based on information provided.
