The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Habilitation Nurse 2. This position is responsible for providing specialized nursing care for individuals with developmental disabilities requiring regular nursing care.  Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assessing health needs and completing a nursing assessment of individuals with developmental disabilities in Group Homes

- Notes orders, reports and team meeting, for completing nursing assessments

- Monitoring of medical care and monitoring medical administration systems

- Providing ongoing training for Direct Support staff

- Participating in the development of policies and procedures


Minimum Requirements

- Required at time of appointment: possession of a current license or temporary permit to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona. Within six (6) months from date of hire, must possess of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona

- Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions

- Possess an active and valid driver’s license with 5 or fewer points on driving record




- Knowledge of nursing theories, practices and processes

- Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

- Nursing assessment

- Communicating clearly and concisely in writing and verbally

- Effective problem-solving

- Make independent decisions regarding member health problems


Preferred Qualifications

- The ideal/preferred candidate will possess at least one (1) year experience in providing professional hands-on nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities; and at least one (1) year of experience in professional community nursing
