The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking a highly-enthusiastic nurse to provide specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Completing nursing assessments and making diagnoses of members with developmental disabilities.

- Participating in fact findings related to medical issues, monitoring medical administration systems, and providing feedback.

- Noting orders and preparing reports for basic care, nursing assessments, and Individual Support Plans (ISPs).

- Completing utilization reviews on caseload and documenting ongoing medical needs.

- Examining and analyzing medical records and charts to ensure quality care.

- Developing and providing education for staff members.

- Assisting with problem solving related to medical policies and procedures.



- Knowledge of Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) and State Licensing requirements per the State Nurse Practice Act.

- Knowledge of Title XIX federal regulations and licensing standards.

- Knowledge of interdisciplinary team planning process services offered in the community, including primary health care providers and educational material resources.

- Skilled in nursing assessment and the development, analysis, and implementation of treatment care plans.

- Skilled in providing appropriate treatment in emergency situations.

- Ability to present training material in a clear and precise manner.

- Ability to respond to medical issues and inquiries in a professional manner.

- Ability to work with professional and non-professional staff to ensure the health and safety of residents.

- Candidates must possess a current license or temporary permit to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona. Within six (6) months from date of hire, the candidate must possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona.

- The ideal candidate will possess at least one (1) year of experience in providing professional hands-on nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities and at least one (1) year of experience in professional community nursing.

- Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees
