JOB SUMMARY:

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated individual to support the Human Resources Liaison.  The Human Resources (HR) Assistant position is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Liaison in setting up interviews; preparing requisitions into Talent Acquisition and coordinating hiring panels as necessary; preparing job offer letters; new hire, and termination paperwork; and maintaining all District personnel records.

JOB DUTIES: 

 

-        Conducting employment references and background checks.

-        Reviewing application packets for completion.

-        Tracking personnel actions and data.

-        Scheduling interviews, setting up interview panels, and preparing and scoring interview packets.

Providing management and employees with routine guidance on rule interpretation, and ensuring consistent application and compliance with rules and policies.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

-        Federal and State laws and statutes relating to Human Resources.

-        Recruiting and interviewing techniques.

-        Recruitment methods.

-        State Personnel Rules (Arizona Administrative Code)

Skill in:

-        Examining a variety of personnel document for accuracy and processing.

-        Effective verbal and written communication.

-        Time management.

-        Computer skills, including use of Word and Excel.

Ability to:

-        Work independently, respond to inquiries, and provide guidance.

-        Maintain confidentiality.

-        Prioritize and manage workflow.

-        Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with employees and management.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-        The candidate will have two (2) years of experience working in a Human Resources environment in one or more of the following areas: employment, benefits or general human resources experience.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-        Must have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207-12.

-        Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
