Driving Requirement: In-state travel is required.  An acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI, suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license.  A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview, if an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).  Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

This position is responsible for completing a service needs assessment; verifying eligibility factors and determining eligibility for multiple eligibility categories based on financial and non-financial factors and additional cross program involvement; maintaining a caseload and making service changes in eligibility, and re-determining eligibility at least every six months; utilizing time management techniques to plan and prioritize service delivery on a complex diverse caseload; operating multiple automated computer systems in order to authorize client services, inputting, updating and retrieving confidential client information and receiving and sending information to other departments and contracted staff and programs; and performing other job related duties.

Knowledge of:department policy, federal law and rules pertaining to multiple child care eligibility and child care provider programs; Department of Health Services (DHS), Arizona Department of Education (ADE), other DES programs, community programs and resources which may be of help to clients and providers; other cultures and diverse value systems, local demographics and community assets; federal and state statutes, administrative rules and contract requirements pertaining to multiple child care programs; operating automated equipment and how to navigate through multiple computer systems including GUIDE, AZCCATS, AZTECS, SYSM, Outlook, CHILDS and CPSCR; methods/techniques used for effective case management, including time management, priority setting and policy controls.

Skill in:mediating, prioritizing, planning and organizing case management activities; conducting interviews in a time efficient manner while eliciting information needed; listening; oral and written communication; giving presentations; diffusing hostile or angry customers; operating multiple mainframe and web-based computer systems.

Ability to:absorb, interpret and assimilate large quantities of technical written material; manipulate computers, operate telephones and other office equipment; elicit accurate data from a variety of sources; schedule time for a wide array of priorities and responsibilities; exercise sound judgment within broad, established guidelines.
