The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking an experienced leader with a law enforcement and judicial background to join our team as the Inspector General. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Directs the Office of the Inspector General which includes operations, performance, audits, investigations, and risk management

- Establishes policies and procedures that are in compliance with current law and regulations

- Assesses the impact of regulations and proposed legislation on the prevention, detention, investigation, and mitigation of fraud, waste, and abuse

- Oversees the identification of areas of deficiency, risk, and vulnerability within DES and its contracts

- Leads the development of contingency plans for risk management, fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement

- Partners with stakeholders to conduct audits, investigations, inspections, and evaluations of programs and projects



- Must have at least nine (9) years of working experience in an executive-level management role with a proven record of success

- Must have extensive experience with investigations, audits, and risk management strategies

- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and Quality Standards

- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, organizations, and agencies

- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, ISO Standards, and other improvement systems

- Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable

- Certified Internal Auditor and/or Certified Fraud Examiner is desirable; Must be AZPOST certified
