The Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Outreach Coordinator for the SNAP CAN Program.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Career Advancement Network (SNAP CAN) assists Nutrition Assistance recipients by improving their ability to obtain regular employment, increase earnings, and reduce their dependency on public assistance.

This position conducts assessments, planning, coordination, and developing the SNAP Career Advancement Network. Convenes and coordinates presentations, technical assistance, training seminars, or meetings. Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail; works with diverse stakeholders; creates and tracks complex schedules, issues, and tracking logs. This position requires being responsive, flexible, professional, and exercising sound judgement. Leads, manages performance, and problem solve using Arizona Management System


Note: In and out of state travel is required. Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current vehicle registration; however, vehicle mileage will be reimbursed.





-          Develops and coordinates linkages with agencies in private, public, and non-profit sector

-          Designs and conducts technical assistance sessions

-          Monitors all reporting, taking corrective action as needed

-          Evaluates program in order to meet the Division and Administration objectives

-          Completes special assignments and delegations

-          Other position related duties as assigned



-          Knowledge of negotiation and monitoring techniques to establish and maintain effective working relationships

-          Ability to research, interpret and analyze Federal and State laws, statues, rules, regulations and guidelines applicable to area of assignment

-          Quality control and assessment to prepare reports, identify key relationships and make necessary adjustments to processes

-          Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity laws, Federal Labor Standard Act and basic knowledge of DES program procedure and policies

-          Ability to learn State and Federal laws, regulations and policies relating to public employment in order to administer program services

-          Sharing information to build understanding of issues and capabilities to problem solve issues and resolve conflicts

-          Listening, actively seeking information to understand stakeholder circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs

-          Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Power Point

-          Ability to present information and provide technical assistance in large group presentations.

-          Have a current, valid State issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) If an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months, a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
