The Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) is seeking an individual to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops and peripherals. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Install and deploy new or repurposed PC hardware and peripherals agency-wide, and work on multiple assigned service requests

- Maintain computer equipment to ensure it has the latest patches and antivirus software, install security patches and service packs, and update OS applications with latest software

- Install, configure, and maintain an asset management tracking system

- Process and complete service requests pertaining to troubleshooting DES computers, devices, and peripherals, and work within RMA guidelines to make corrective actions within established intervals

- Evaluate new hardware and software products in test environments before distributing or recommending changes in agency automation standards

- Responsible for warehouse inventory maintenance, receiving and accepting computer devices into inventory, and participating in the imaging production and deployment process

- Prepare and update documents for software and hardware related to PC support, and maintain end-user mobile devices as needed



- Knowledge of principles, capabilities, and operation of network devices such as servers, PCs, workstations and network interface cards

- Knowledge of desktop management and monitoring of application management, physical and software security solutions, virus protection, software distribution and version control

- Knowledge of current and supported operating systems and applications such as Windows 7, 8 and 10, Windows RT, MS Office Professional and network protocols TCP/IP

- Skill in integration of hardware and software components, effectively analyzing, evaluating, and drawing logical conclusions, and solving complex PC related problems

- Skill in interpersonal communication and planning, organizing, and coordinating complex technical activities

- Ability to analyze system hardware and software problems and provide information to the resolve problem

- Ability to understand the inner-workings of personal computers, communicate with technical and non-technical staff, and continually learn in a changing environment

- Candidate will be required to lift/carry, push/pull 30-40 pounds therefore a job offer is contingent upon successful completion of a physical exam

- Bachelors degree in Information Technology or closely related field highly desired

- 4 years experience working in IT field, or equivalent combination of experience and education is highly desired
