JOB SUMMARY:

This position will support a culture of continuous improvement, engaging employees in basic problem solving activities within the organization.

JOB DUTIES: 

-          Facilitates training sessions, team huddles and participates/coaches team problem solving sessions; supports continuous improvement activities in problem solving sessions.

-          Coaches leaders in the installation, maintenance and improvement of Arizona Management Systems (AMS) core systems, such as visual management, standard work, and accountability with proper use of AMS leadership behaviors.

-          Collaborates with leadership and subject matter expert (SME) teams to assist them with understanding how to use the accurate metrics that direct the organization to identify the root cause analysis, countermeasures and process improvements.

-          Observes huddles and Gemba walks, provides feedback and coaching to leaders.  

-          Reinforces and enables the transition to AMS.

-          Supports a culture of continuous improvement, engaging employees in basic problem solving activities within the organization.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

-          Performance improvement methodologies and practices.

-          LEAN concepts and tools (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, visual management, standard work, etc.).

Skill in:

-          Oral and written communication.

-          Expressing ideas and information concisely with all levels of the organization.

-          Establishing, developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with individuals; motivating groups toward common goals.

-          The use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.

Ability to:

-          Coach improvement performance and help teams to see and understand the impact of AMS.

-          Influence and help individuals through change.

-          Coach level ups, down, and across within the organization with the implementation of AMS.

-          Follow standard work while remaining flexible, open minded and thorough.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

-          Have experience in delivering training and coaching on continuous improvement tools and principles. Lust have an understanding of LEAN tools and principles.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-          Have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees. 

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
