JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides a wide range of staff-assisted employment services to job seekers while maintaining client confidentiality. The Program Service Evaluator (PSE) performs job development, job matching, and placement assistance, determines programmatic eligibility and makes referrals to employer job openings, trainings and other services when appropriate. Additionally, the Program Service Evaluator will provide career guidance planning, conduct workshops, and deliver program presentations at orientations.

JOB DUTIES: 

-        Assist job seekers with employment services from job search to job placement, and application to unemployment insurance program.

-        Interview job seekers to obtain information about job skills and qualifications for job placement.

-        Assess job seeker’s work history, skills, knowledge, and abilities, and interest.

-        Provide job matching service to current job openings and referrals to available trainings, resources, and other support services.

-        In conjunction with job seeker, develop employment plans and discuss career opportunities.

-        Post job openings on the Arizona Job Connection (AJC) database system.

-        Communicate with employers about job referrals made, arrange interviews, and discuss additional openings to be added to the Arizona Job Connection site.

-        Search database for job seeker’s applications and send referrals to current job openings

-        Conduct presentations related to employment services such as resume writing and job interview skills.

-        Assist participants in the [email protected] Employment Resource Room.

-        Participate in job fairs and other community events related to employment services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

-        Strong knowledge of employment service activities, such as resume building and job interviewing skills.

-        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-         Presentation and interpersonal skills.

-        Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employers and clients.

-        Adequate understanding of client’s confidentiality

-        Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Internet navigation.

-        Must be self-started, flexible, independent, and a team player.

-        Knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance program and the filing process.

-        Knowledge of community resources to assist clients to obtain suitable and sustainable employment.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

Two years’ experience providing customer service.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-        Must have a High School Diploma or GED

-        Apply for and show proof of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets Level One requirements

-        A current, valid state issued driver’s license; employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration and complete any required training (see Arizona administrative code R2-10-207.12)

-        Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees

-        Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
