Responsibilities

The Office of the Director (OOD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Public Information Officer 3. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Production of educational materials, including Division success stories for external promotion of programs

- Draft and edit internal and external division communications, including emails, e-newsletters, press releases, Division articles, intranet and internet pages, and social media messaging

- Assist Divisions with strategic planning and implementation of communication initiatives

- Coordination with members of the communications team and internal staff to meet deadlines and ensure quality and consistency

- Performs other job related duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

- Knowledge of the basic principles of journalism, communications or related field

- Advanced theories of persuasive writing and speaking

- Excellent communication skills, including punctuation, grammar, usage, and style

- Principles and methods of strategic planning

- Developing and managing successful working relationships with a wide range of people

- Ability to manage time and resources to consistently meet tight deadlines

- Ability to organize and promote special events

- Minimum education: BA/BS degree in Journalism, Communications or related field
