The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking for  an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Receptionist. This position answers incoming calls, assists customers by providing information on location of training classes, special events, mail pick-up and delivery, keys to building and reservation and/or availability of conference/Interview rooms.


-          Answer phone and direct calls

-          Give directions to visitors for services needed within the building such as trainings, seminars, forums, medical reviews, etc.

-          Operate postage meter and distribute all inter-office and U.S. postal mail daily; records, tracks and distributes packages

-          Keep track of vehicle reservations

-          Sort/process reports from Qualified Vendors and distribute to appropriate staff

-          Open and close down switchboard daily.  Secure all doors to the building at the end of the day

-          Issue and track visitor badges




Knowledge of:

-          Basic switchboard operations

Skill in:

-          Answering incoming calls and transferring to appropriate area

-          Excellent customer service

-          Organizational skills

Ability to:

-          Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when dealing with the public or any situation

-          Provide basic information to internal and external customers’

-          Perform limited clerical support functions, light typing, alphabetizing, opening and distributing inter-office and U.S. postal mail

-          Operate a multi-line phone system and use standard office equipment


-          Prefer experience interacting and dealing with the public.  Experience operating a switchboard is desirable.


-          Successfully pass background and reference checks. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
