JOB SUMMARY:

This position requires knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and policies relating to public employment: Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, Federal Standard Act, Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers Program, Veterans Programs and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The Regional Manager will manage subordinate supervisors at multiple employment service offices throughout the region. The regions consist of three workforce development areas in southern Arizona. They will also be responsible for completing performance evaluations, hiring and discipline for employees in their region. They will consistently work towards outstanding customer experience and ensure proper measurable goals are being achieved. They will also  create an environment of learning, performance and motivation to resolve conflicts and make hard decisions. They will build and develope a cohesive team. The Regional Manager will also provide constant ongoing support and guidance to the  entire  team. The  goal will be to assist in career advancement and ensure workers have the resources to complete their work.

 

JOB DUTIES: 

-        Monitor and evaluate local offices to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services in area, focusing on the areas outlined by DOL as they relate to the Workforce Administration Prognim. Develop and monitor corrective action plans as necessary.

-        Monitor and allocate resources to local offices to maximize service delivery to customers.

-        Evaluate staff  performance lo ensure office goals and objective are being met.

-        Travel is required to establish contact with local employers and community partners to facilitate employment opportunities for individuals.

-        Analyze Data to devlope strategies and pratical solutions.

-        Manage multiple projects and prioritize work.

-        Facilitate meetings with team.

-        Respond to public and program inquiries, customer concerns, and or provide program information, public relations (reports, articles, etc.) as appropriate.

-        Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

-        Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and policies relating to public employment: Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, Federal Standard Act, Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers Program, Veterans Programs and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

-        Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

-        Must also have analytical and problem solving skills, negotiating skills, decision­ making skills, time management skills and leadership skills.

-        The individual must demonstrate skills in dealing with different points of view,

             skills in leadership, communication, problem solving, public relations, decision

              making, and ability to organize and mobilize staff.

-        Individual must also have teaching, public speaking and project management skills.

-        Ability to stay on task and complete long term projects.  

-        Ability to think strategically and apply abstract principles and goals.

-        Ability to manage projects effectively with attention to detail.

-        Ability to facilitate and lead meetings.

-        Ability to use efficient personal time management.

-        Ability to make independent decisions.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

Management experience of supervisors. Experience in performance management and demonstrates critical thinking.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

- Driving is required; individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle

   A current, valid state issued driver’s license; employee is subject to driver’s license record

   checks and must maintain an acceptable driving

   record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration and complete any required training

   (see Arizona administrative code R2-10-207.12)

 

- Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program

   (E- Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees.

 

- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon

   completion of the above mentioned process and the

   agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
