The Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Rehabilitation Services Specialist 3 with the Transition from School to Work (TSW) program. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Perform outreach activities in order to increase referral base. Interviewing consumers for services, describes the vocational rehabilitation program or the Rehabilitation Services Administration Program of choice

- Collects and analyzes medical and/or psychological data to determine program and services eligibility, functional limitations, priority status and identify appropriate disability related services

- Provides extensive orientation and adjustment to disability counseling to enhance consumer knowledge and understanding of individual disability issues

- Provides vocational counseling and guidance; facilitates interest inventories, career exploration, and labor market exploration to determine suitable employment goals

- Facilitates problem solving and decision making processes to consumers for development of an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)

- Sole responsibility for case management and case load activities

- Travels and attends meeting of community organizations

- Knowledge of Federal, and State laws, rules, regulations, and personnel policies and procedures pertaining to the provision of vocational rehabilitation/independent living

- Knowledge of resources available in the community for the alleviation of health, educational, and financial needs

- Knowledge of qualifications and requirements for a wide range of occupations; occupational opportunities and labor market trends

- Skilled in work management, and work leadership; interviewing and eliciting information; counseling persons with disabilities

- Skille in evaluating, interpreting an observing behavioral impact on potential employment opportunities

- Able to prioritize, assign, and review work

- Able to utilize resources

- Able to establish, and maintain effective working relationships

-  Must have a Master’s Degree with major Rehabilitation Counseling; or Master’s Degree in Related Field; or Master’s Degree in a non-related field plus one year of human service Experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in related field plus two years of human service Experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related Field plus three years of human service Experience

-  Must meet eligibility standards for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) established by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) within 6 years of employment as a Rehabilitation Services Specialist
