The Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Monitoring case management practices to ensure compliance with Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) policies and procedures      

- Approves key client decision for staff, recruits, interviews, hires and trains new employees; audits case service expenditures;

- Evaluates employee performance, coordinates leave schedules and leave programs such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA);

- Administers disciplinary action when necessary; coordinates and evaluates Cooperative 3rd Party Agreements

- Develops, coordinates, implements and monitors new and ongoing service contracts; mediates, analyzes and solves problems or disputes in the field with contractors or within the organization   

- Represents the Department of Economic Security/Rehabilitation Services Administration (DES/RSA) on Special Work Groups, Boards, Committees and Public Forums

- Knowledge of Federal and State laws, statutes, rules, regulations, and personnel policies pertaining to the provision of vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities imposed by a variety of disabling conditions.

- Knowledge of occupational opportunities and labor market trends applicable to the community

- Knowledge of needs of persons with disabilities including physical, cognitive, sensory and psychiatric

- Skill in developing and interpreting statistical reports; counseling and guidance

- Skill in interviewing and listening, developing research methodology and strategies to meet specific issues in staff planning or operation

- Provide information to customers, providers, community organizations and agencies resources in the community for the alleviation of health, educational and financial needs

- Ability to prioritize, assign, evaluate, utilize resources, manage cases, analyze and interpret complex medical and psychological reports  

- Must have a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Rehabilitation Counseling  or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) plus two years of related Human Services work experience; or Master’s Degree with a major in a related field plus two years of related Human Service experience; or a Master’s Degree in a non-related field plus three years of related Human Service work; or a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in a related field plus three years of Human Service work experience equivalent to a RSS II or III; or any bachelor’s Degree plus four years of related Human Service work experience equivalent to a RSS II or III.

- Must meet eligibility standards for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) established by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) within 6 years of employment as a Rehabilitation Services Specialist
