The Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Rehabilitation Services Technician. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Performs support duties by assisting with various duties of the counselor for case management and providing team approach assistance to counselor for the client referral process through closure of the client’s case

- Interviews applicants for intake and provide case notes with general client information of client self-report of disability, socio-economic information, medical/psychological issues, general disability related issues and enters information into the LIBERA system

- Maintains client case files to ensure all information is up to date; gathers client signatures on required documentation for the Electronic Case File (ECF)

- Provides assistance to the client with direct contact to identify client issues, clarify issues, understand the client services and the counselor’s directions

- Corresponds with clients to inform and remind them of appointments for assessments, counselor appointments, and to request documentation (medical/psychological), monthly progress reports, and assisting the RSS 3 with all necessary correspondence

- Provides information about RSA programs, available community resources, and as well as providing orientation to new referrals to the RSA program the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program process



- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations in regards to the provision of rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities

- Knowledge of the guidelines and best practices of the Vocational Rehabilitation program

- General knowledge of the variety of disabilities, disabling medical conditions, and available community resources

- Skill in observing behaviors with regard to possible employment and employment expectations

- Oral and written communication skills

- Problem solving and decision making skills

- Ability to communicate and have a good working relationship with individuals being served through Vocational Rehabilitation, co-workers, vendors and employers

- Ability to prioritize, assign and review work and effectively utilize resources

- Collect assessment information needed for the VR Counselor to determine eligibility of applicant, monitor client progress, and input data into the LIBERA automated system

- Provide information to customers, providers, community organizations and agencies
