This position schedules direct service care staff at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge, a 24/7 intermediate care facility (ICF) and state operated group homes, caring for approximately 83 members with developmental disabilities ranging from moderate to severe.  This position ensures sufficient staff are scheduled and on-site assisting and caring for members and their needs.



Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


-          Creates and maintains staff work schedules.  Enters weekly work shift schedules into system and adjusts staff schedules accordingly due to unexpected absences and vacations. Provides printed copy of day-to-day schedules including changes to supervisors and administrators.

-          Contacts, coordinates, and schedules with existing employees to cover shifts for other staff who are sick and on vacation.  Works directly with employees to address scheduling conflict issues.  If unable to resolve, works with supervisor for final determination.

-          In collaboration with the Health Services Nurses and Home Supervisors, arranges for staff to accompany members to scheduled as well as urgent, unplanned medical and personal appointments/visits.

-          Maintains call-in log in order to schedule fill-in staff.

-          As time permits, assists with general office duties (e.g., copying, filing, shredding, reception, etc.).


Knowledge of:

-          Coordinating shift schedules

Skill in:

-          Oral and written communication

-          Planning, organization, and time management

-          Proficiently using computer programs including various database programs, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

Ability to:

-          Establish priorities and problem solve

-          Work efficiently under pressure

-          Work in a fast-paced environment

-          Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times and through all work

-          Read and interpret matrices identifying minimum staffing levels 




-          Scheduling experience is preferred.  Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Experience using software (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.) is also preferred.



-          Have a current, valid state issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and registration, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12) Driving is required. Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.


-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.


-          Candidates for this position shall be subject to both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459. 


-           Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
